About me
Born & raised in Basel. First musical steps on the oboe as a child, then self-taught on guitar & bass, socialised in the eighties in the New Wave/Punk environment with first relevant bands and first single release.
Later studied journalism in Zurich and musical training as a ‘real’ musician/music teacher at the Lucerne Music Academy with Heiri Känzig, Wolfgang Zwiauer and Herbie Kopf.
Studies and workshops with Simon Nabatov, Christy Doran, Joe Bowie, Barre Phillips, Django Bates and others, musical study visits and travels in Brazil, Cuba and Indonesia. Award of the Axelle and Max Koch Foundation 2003, Lucerne.
Since the end of the 1980s active as bassist/composer/vocalist in various bands, ensembles and projects between rock, pop, jazz, Latin, performance and theatre, with regular concert activity. Can be heard as a sideman on various CD productions.
